It can only mean one thing, one of the most beloved musicals of the last two decades is flying from Broadway stage and onto the big screen in an unmissable cinematic event that boasts a magical cast. The wonderful trailer for the first part of the long-awaited film telling the story of the witches of Oz introduces Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as Elphaba and Glinda, two young witches who are the closest of friends until they discover destiny has very different plans for them both. There’s also first looks at key supporting characters, including Joanathan Bailey as carefree prince Fiyero, Ethan Slater as Munchkin Boq, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, and Jeff Goldblum as the legendary, wonderful Wizard of Oz. With the promise of magic, songs, and a story that’s stunned theatre audiences for so long, we can’t wait until we’re off to see the first part of Wicked, in cinemas November 22.
