They’ve survived Riot, Carnage, and all of the mayhem in between. Now, the anarchic alien antihero and hard-up reporter face their final test in this thrilling conclusion to their trilogy.
Words Robb Sheppard
It’s the curtain call for Marvel’s Lethal Protector and the first since his surprise appearance in the Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits scene that teased potential symbiotic shenanigans in the MCU. But he’s got bigger issues on his plate first!
After really getting under each other’s skin until now, Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and his alien accomplice are finally working in almost perfect harmony as antiheroes quite literally taking a bite out of crime. But they’re about to be tested like never before when they’re forced to go on the run from deadly enemies from each of their respective worlds. Can Venom be contained? Or will invaders from his home planet bring an end to Earth as we know it?
New faces heading into this final fray are Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor as government agents joining Stephen Graham’s returning Detective Patrick Mulligan in the hunt for the head-eating antihero. It looks like he’ll be finally finding out what Brock’s been hiding now he has a sinister symbiote suit of his own – Venom’s archenemy, Toxin.
Finally, everyone’s favourite convenience store owner Mrs Chen is back for a literal last dance, too. No word yet if Venom is finally allowed to eat her alive, but that’s just another reason to book your ticket for this delicious entertaining farewell. Yum!
Laurels For Hardy
Inception
In his breakthrough role, Tom Hardy stars as Eames the forger, who slips under the skin of Tom Berenger’s Browing to influence his wealthy godson into dissolving his company all while in a dream. We think. We’re still confused.
Legend
They may be identical twins, but Ronnie and Reggie Kray are worlds apart. In the dual role, Hardy defines the distinction between cool and collected, and a crazed loose cannon.
Venom
In being so involved in now all three Venom films, it’s clear Hardy is having a blast as both Brock and the brain-eating, wise-cracking big bad below the surface. The duo’s hilarious verbal sparring and heartfelt camaraderie is the legacy of this trilogy.
