Trap Trailer

The trailer introduces Josh Hartnett as Cooper, father of the year material as he chaperones his daughter to a concert held by her favourite popstar, Lady Raven. Upon noticing a heightened security presence at the venue, he soon discovers that the city’s police have used this opportunity to capture a dangerous criminal who’s attending the event. But, as it turns out and unbeknownst to his daughter, Cooper is the prolific serial killer known as “The Bucher” and now he knows he must avoid being caught in this trap. We’re used to M. Night Shyamalan keeping his cards close to his chest when it comes to plot details, so it’s a huge surprise to see the film’s seemingly major plot twist revealed in the trailer. Swapping his usual secrecy for such in your face explicitness doesn’t spoil the show, in fact it only ramps up the expectations for tense thriller and suggests there’s very likely to be much more than meets the eye. Trap comes to cinemas August 9.
