After gaining popularity from Japan over many years, anime is all the rage in the mainstream and now one of the biggest franchises in cinema history enters the fray with a groundbreaking project. The gorgeous trailer takes audiences back around two-hundred years before the events of the original trilogy to tell the tale of Helm Hammerhand and the epic battle at the keep that would come to be known as Helm’s Deep. This epic and beautifully animated vision presents Middle-Earth as its seen through the eyes of legendary anime director Kenji Kamiyama, with Peter Jackson’s seal of approval as executive producer. East-meets-West anime boasts a voice cast full of familiar names, with Brian Cox as the King of Rohan, Helm Hammerhand;, Gaia Wise as his daughter, Héra; and Luke Pasqualino as Wulf. Miranda Otto, famed for her unforgettable, award-winning performance as Éowyn returns as the tale’s narrator.
