Thanksgiving. The most important national holiday celebrated across America. But now, it gets a dark twist. Horror maestro Eli Roth returns to the screen after five years with Thanksgiving, an idea that started as a mock trailer for a fake film in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse and is now a fully-fledged feature-length holiday horror.
Nobody celebrates Thanksgiving more than the people of the town of Plymouth, Massachusetts, the place where the Pilgrims first settled and the Thanksgiving holiday was created. But this year, after a Black Friday riot, an axe-wielding killer in a Pilgrim hat and mask brings the annual party to a bloody end. Expect a high death count, screaming teens, and lots of fake blood… but definitely no leftovers.
Among the townsfolk caught up in the chaos are TikTok sensation-turned-actress Addison Rae who adds to her repertoire as a Scream Queen, while Grey’s Anatomy’s beloved “McDreamy” Patrick Dempsey stars as the turkey-loving town’s sheriff.
Roth is best known for his early noughties’ horrors Cabin Fever and Hostel. Back with a fresh and bloody take on the beloved American holiday and a Thanksgiving Killer, who shares similar intentions as Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees, then anyone in need of a good scare will have plenty to be thankful for this holiday season.
