Beginning back in 1996, Tom Cruise’s exploits as Ethan Hunt and the IMF – Impossible Mission Force – has become what many consider to be the best action-thriller franchise Hollywood has ever produced. Most, if not all, of its success can be attributed to the energy, passion, and fearlessness its star shows by putting himself on the line to bring audiences the most daring and original stories and set pieces we’ve ever seen.

Fast forward almost thirty years, the eighth instalment follows on from Dead Reckoning to continue Ethan and his team’s hunt for The Entity, a rogue AI that could wipe out humanity as we know it. Globetrotting once again with Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames et al, their mission is now clear: find the sunken submarine known as Sevastopol, where the source code of The Entity lies, before Esai Morales’ merciless mercenary Gabriel or anyone else gets there first.

Get set for one hell of a ride as Cruise and co push themselves harder than ever with more jaw-dropping stunts, this time including Cruise flying ON a plane and doing countless deep ocean dives to save the day.

Director Christopher McQuarrie – who has helmed every film since Rogue Nation – may have plans for further Missions, but if this farewell, what a rollercoaster it has been. Mission: Accomplished.

Action Man

Burj Khalifa Climb

Upon becoming the world’s tallest structured when built in 2009, the Mission team decided to get Cruise to climb the outside of the skyscraper, thousands of feet above the roads below for the famous scene from Ghost Protocol.

Textbook Take Off

Easily the best stunt Cruise and his team have achieved in the series. Rogue Nation begins with a bang as Ethan Hunt hangs off of a plane as it takes off and the runway disappears behind him.

Helicopter Fight

One of the many amazing sequences in Fallout follows Cruise, actually flying a helicopter, high above the stunning New Zealand mountains as he weaves, ducks, and dives in pursuit of Henry Cavill’s August Walker.
