After bringing us tech-based terror with M3GAN, Blumhouse boots up a new AI horror that sees a family fall victim to a sinister smart home device. The trailer for the film formerly known as They Listen sees John Cho’s Curtis and his family become test subjects for a groundbreaking new digital tech that soon begins to terrorise them when it gains sentience and wants to protect them at all costs. Starring alongside Cho are Kathereine Waterston, Havana Rose Liu, Lukita Maxwell, and Isaac Bae, with David Dastmalchian and Keith Carradine completing the cast. There’s plenty to be Afraid of when this deadly digital assistant arrives in cinemas August 30.
