Polar opposite cousins, David and Benji, reunite for a road trip in honour of their beloved late grandmother, a survivor of the Holocaust. The unlikely duo set out on a tour of Poland to explore their Jewish heritage and shared personal and ancestral pain… which is pretty much all they’ve got in common.

Though inseparable as children, they’ve since grown apart to become very different adults. From the moment their journey begins, loose cannon Benji and ordinary family man David butt heads and find their personality clashes causing complicated and increasingly awkward moments. As well as old tensions between the pair boiling to the surface, they’re each facing existential dilemmas of their own. David is struggling to balance a stressful tech job with his family life as a husband and new father, while Benji’s free spirit is under threat from some sort of crisis of his own.

A Real Pain is a visceral, funny, and introspective buddy road movie born from the mind of Jesse Eisenberg, who writes, directs, produces, and stars. The Social Network star is joined by the Emmy-winning sensation from Succession, Kieran Culkin, as his slightly lost and wacky counterpart. Together, their laughs mixed with melodramatic family problems promise a trip sure to be memorable.
