Timothée Chalamet transformers into the folk-rock icon in this chronicle of his rise from a teen with a dream to chart-topping triumph and his most famous performance. Where Todd Haynes’ took an experimental take with his 2007 musical, A Complete Unknown offers a far more traditional telling helmed by an esteemed director with two great biopics under his belt. James Mangold brought the story of Johnny Cash to cinema screens, as well as the tale of Ford Vs Ferrari, and now turns to another icon of American culture. He’s assembled a starry supporting cast – of Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, Dan Fogler, Boyd Holbrook, and Scoot McNairy – for this big-screen ballad of a true original. A Complete Unknown comes to cinemas January 17.
