In the year that celebrates the forty-fifth anniversary of the original Alien, the latest instalment in the world-renowned sci-fi horror franchise launches audiences back into the air-tight tension that glued them to their seats all those years ago.

Helming the sequel is Fede Álvarez, a veteran of suspense and bloody horror with Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe under his belt. He teams with Alien creator Ridley Scott as producer and the Aliens effects crew, who remain heralded for their exemplary practical creature design, to deliver the same nerve-shredding claustrophobia and visceral cinematography of the earlier films as an all-new acid-blooded xenomorph hunts down new prey.

Set in the space between Scott’s Alien and James Cameron’s Aliens, Romulus follows a group of young space colonisers as they dock with a derelict space station and come face to face with the most terrifying predator in the universe.

Fresh out of Alex Garland’s Civil War, Cailee Spaeny heads up the young crew as Rain Carradine, who’s got a fighting spirit reminiscent of Sigourney Weaver’s iconic Ripley. Rye Lane’s David Jonsson, Madame Web’s Isabela Merced, and Archie Renaux from Netflix's Shadow And Bone complete the doomed crew alongside newcomers Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu.

We can't wait to see this young cast make an impact with this terrifying new Alien chapter master-crafted for fans old and new.

Woman Vs Alien

Cailee Spaeny’s Rain isn’t the first woman  to look a xenomorph in the twin jaw. Throughout sci-fi cinema history, other strong women have been pitted against terrifying space creatures.

Ellen Ripley

Sigourney Weaver’s legendary final girl is the original protagonist of the Alien franchise who remains notable for challenging gender roles within cinema. She doesn’t just survive, she destroys a xenomorph by blowing up with the ship!

Pvt. Vasquez

Another strong female character from the Alien franchise is the no-nonsense hard-muscled woman who shows up all of her male colleagues when it comes to shooting xenomorphs.
